On August 9, 2024, an ATR 72-500 twin-engine turboprop passenger plane carrying 61 people was caught on video fatally crashing in Sao Paulo, Brazil. While an investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing, the ATR 72-500 is a notoriously finicky plane and is responsible for at least 66 aviation incidents and accidents. Residents on the ground captured the horrifying sight from various angles as the passenger plane fell from the sky.
Officials have confirmed that there were no survivors out of the 61 people onboard the flight. The airline VOEPASS is working with officials to get to the bottom of the incident:
“The company regrets to inform that all 61 people on board flight 2283 died at the site. At this time, VOEPASS is prioritizing the provision of unrestricted assistance to the victims’ families and effectively collaborating with authorities to determine the causes of the accident.”
MediaFancier advises caution when viewing any content related to the crash, as it is extremely disturbing material. One resident captured footage of smoldering bodies strewn out across the ground amidst the wreckage. This is truly a horrific incident.
